FEM speaks to MEPs about AI

FEM took part in an event organised by Orgalime and the European Forum for Manufacturing on 20 June 2018 in the European Parliament in Brussels. Entitled “Shaping a future that benefits society: AI and data in European technology industries”, the initiative aimed at fostering discussions between industry representatives and Members of the European Parliament.

FEM was represented by Eva Virtute, Legal Counsel at Toyota Material Handling Manufacturing Italy and Chair of FEM technical & Regulatory Committee. Through concrete examples, Ms. Virtute presented the many benefits and opportunities that AI and data offer. She pleaded in favour of a protective regulatory framework that notably enables freedom of contract and protects companies’ know-how and trade secrets.
