FEM, CECE, CEMA and EGMF, representing manufacturers of materials handling, construction, agricultural and garden machinery, have sent a joint position on the draft Ecodesign Regulation on light sources and separate control gears.
Whereas the current draft Regulation provides an exclusion for lighting products installed in motor vehicles the sectors request an extension of this exclusion to their equipment. Indeed, the latter, which is produced in small volumes, presents many similarities with motor vehicles and yet it was not part of the impact assessment carried out before the proposal for a regulation was drafted.
On that basis, the sectors make concrete proposals to extend the exclusion to their products.
