THE INTRALOGISTIC SYSTEMS INDUSTRY FOLLOWS THE PATH TO GROWTH: 2015 WAS A GOOD YEAR

The FEM Intralogistic Systems Product Group has published its 2015 Factsheet.

In line with the three previous years, 2015 was a good year for the intralogistic systems industry as a whole. Compared to 2014, order intake increased by over 20% in 2015.

One important result to highlight is the “airport” sector: it showed an increase from 12% to 17% between 2014 and 2015. Although the share of the food & beverage and automotive sectors decreased, the actual volume of order intake remained stable. As regards the “retail, wholesale and mail-order” sector, the actual volume increased, while it remained stable in terms of share: it has represented around a quarter of order intake since 2012. The “Courier Express Parcel” sector decreased to 15% in 2015, while it showed an increase from 17% to 23% between 2013 and 2014. However, the actual volume of order intake was slightly above 2013 results and 30% higher compared to 2009.

As regards statistics for intralogistic machinery (S/R machines & miniloads), it decreased slightly compared to the previous year. Shuttles for boxes also decreased slightly, but were almost twice the level seen in 2011.
