The manifesto lists 7 key areas (safety, technology, intellectual property, global market access, people, energy, environment & resources) to maintain the competitiveness of the European materials handling industry, the second largest industry in mechanical engineering with 300,000 people employed directly and €60bn turnover. FEM messages are illustrated by practical examples of initiatives undertaken by companies in various of these areas.
