Matthias Fischer joins the FEM Board

On 7th October 2016, Matthias Fischer, President and CEO, Toyota Material Handling Europe, was nominated Member of the Board of FEM further to his election as President of the FEM Industrial Trucks Product Group. He succeeds Ken Dufford (Crown), who leaves after 4 years.

Matthias Fischer was appointed President and CEO of Toyota Material Handling Europe (TMHE) in February 2012. The new strategy was implemented and after 4 years the company improved both share of market and profitability, with a revenue of 2.0 billion Euro.

His career started in Hamburg as Management-Trainee at Jungheinrich AG. During this time he gained in-depth knowledge of various management activities in Services and Sales. His last professional position before changing the company was as Executive Director Sales and Marketing at Jungheinrich.

One of the milestones in Matthias Fischer’s career as Managing Director of Toyota Materials Handlings Deutschland (TMHD, 2007 – 2012) was the successful merger of BT Deutschland with Toyota Gabelstapler Deutschland and the consequent development of new distribution channels, both with a dealer and a direct sales force.

Fischer was born in 1961. In 1986 he graduated in Engineering from the University of Applied Sciences in Wedel, Germany.
